Former DP MP Edmond Spaho has reacted sharply to the way the competition for People's Advocate is being conducted, publicly accusing his party leaders of manipulation, bargaining and hypocrisy. At the center of his reaction is Adriana Kalaja, one of the candidates who enjoys broad support among the democratic base, but who, according to Spaho, is being sabotaged by the DP leadership.
"Adriana is a very good candidacy, but the DP does not want to elect the man, but the servant," declares Spaho, accusing the party of repeating the same scheme it used before with representatives of the politically persecuted - empty promises and false excuses that the candidates are not accepted by the SP.
According to him, the DP has entered into an ugly game, where in the end a name that the Socialist Party likes will be voted for, while afterwards it will be celebrated as if a political victory has been achieved. "In the end, they will vote for some scoundrel that the SP likes. After the vote, we will boast that we managed to get the People's Advocate," Spaho ironically says.
