The constitution of the Kosovo Assembly has failed again. The Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly, Dimal Basha, has suspended the Assembly session due to a lack of consensus on the name of the Serbian deputy speaker.
The Serbian List insisted on Slavko Simić as vice-president, and failed to be elected three times, receiving only 10 votes (9 from the Serbian List and one from Adem Hoxha from the Gorani community).
Since none of the candidates drawn from the draw secured the necessary votes, he requested the suspension of proceedings, to reconvene on Thursday at 11:00.
After the Serb List insisted on the same candidate, the Speaker of the Assembly, Dimal Basha, proceeded to the selection by lot of the deputy speaker from among the Serb community.
Thus, the Assembly of Kosovo is considered unconstituted, since based on the Constitution and Rules of Procedure of the parliament, the Assembly is constituted by electing the president and vice-presidents.
