A 71-year-old man from Pristina tried to end his life due to the serious psychological condition caused by an extramarital affair with a much younger woman. The elderly man had an intimate relationship with a 41-year-old woman, who had recently started blackmailing him for taking property. The woman threatened to publish the intimate photos with him, and in return she received considerable sums of money.
"On 16.09.2024, the 41-year-old citizen was identified and arrested, who allegedly blackmailed a citizen into publishing some of his photos. Through blackmail, the suspect managed to get a large amount of money from the victim. With the decision of the prosecutor, the suspect was taken into custody", the announcement of the Kosovo Police states.
The media in Kosovo write that the police have arrested 41-year-old Leonora Gashi.
It is suspected that the amount of money that the citizen in question had taken from the elderly under the threat that she would send intimate photos to family members, goes up to 50 thousand euros.
According to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo, anyone who, with the purpose of unlawfully obtaining material benefit for himself or another person, threatens the other person to reveal details about him or his relatives that will damage his honor or authority. theirs and in this way forces such a person to perform or not perform any action to the detriment of his property or that of another person, shall be punished by a fine and imprisonment from six months to five years.
