The Conservative Member of Parliament in the United Kingdom, Alicia Kearns, has recently reacted to the statements of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. On Friday, he made seven demands for Kosovo, which included the urgent establishment of the Association, the release of what he called "political prisoners", and other demands.
The British MP said that after Vucic's statements, the United Kingdom Government should urgently focus on the Balkans. She added that Vucic is using Vladimir Putin's tactics by announcing plans for the annexation of northern Kosovo. Kearns added that almost a year has passed since the attack in Banjska and the EU still has not sanctioned Serbia.
"Following last night's statements by President Vučić, the UK Government must urgently focus on the Balkans. Almost a year after the attack in Banjska, there is still no justice, and despite the involvement of the Serbian state, there are still no sanctions from the EU (only lithium and aircraft agreements).
Vucic is following Putin's strategy, announcing plans to annex northern Kosovo. Kosovo is a sovereign state. The Balkans must move away from sectarian views, the people of North Kosovo and the Serbs of Kosovo deserve more, not to be used as pawns and chess pieces in irredentist ambitions", she wrote in "X".
