The next meeting between the chief negotiators of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Besnik Bislimi and Petar Petkovic, will be held today in Brussels, mediated by the European Union.
The focus of the meeting is expected to be the implementation of the agreements reached, while the chief negotiators are expected to have separate meetings with the mediator of the European Union, Miroslav Lajcak, but the expectations are that there will be no meeting between Bislimi and Petkovic.
Before the meeting, the mediator of the European Union, Miroslav Lajçak, visited Pristina and Belgrade to set the date and agenda of today's meeting. Meanwhile, there were statements that the planned meeting was rejected by the Serbian side.
Deputy Prime Minister Besnik Bislimi stated on September 13 that Serbia has rejected the meeting at the level of chief negotiators scheduled for September 17, according to the agenda determined by the mediator of the European Union, Miroslav Lajcak.
Meanwhile, yesterday the Government of Kosovo announced that the first deputy prime minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi, has traveled to Brussels, where he will participate in the next meetings planned within the dialogue process.
Otherwise, the speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, yesterday reiterated that the dialogue is dead for this year. Analysts also do not expect that there will be any concrete steps regarding the dialogue, considering that in Kosovo the date of the national elections has already been set, which will be held in February./KosovaPress
