The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has declared Wednesday a day of mourning.
Osmani said that tomorrow will be a day of mourning in memory of all the women and girls killed. She says that the society will be in mourning every day for as long as there will be murders of women and girls.
"Tomorrow will be a national day of mourning in Kosovo, but our society will be in mourning every day as long as there are murders of our women and girls!" , writes Osmani.
We recall that two murders within a few days shook Kosovo. Gjyljeta Ukella was shot dead this morning by her husband Edmond Lajçi. He admitted the crime, while the motive of the event and whether children were present is still unknown.
We recall that on April 12, 21-year-old Erona Cokli was killed by her ex-husband Valon Aliu. The serious event took place in the premises of the Center for Social Work.
