The ex-soldier of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Hasan Dakaj, has been given a one-month detention in Serbia.
He was arrested by the Serbian authorities in Merdarë 3 days ago, after being accused of war crimes in 1999.
His lawyer Xhevdet Smakiqi confirmed the news and revealed that the decision against his client will also be appealed.
"He is in Belgrade in the detention center. "Late last night, I received information from the lawyer appointed by the Serbian state that he was ordered to be detained for 30 days and now he has to file a complaint," said Smakiqi.
Dakaj is accused by the Serbian Prosecutor's Office of having committed war crimes in 1999 when he was only 19 years old.
