A security expert in Serbia has slapped Belgrade hard for the attack in Kosovo. He said that there is no way that the Serbian secret service was not aware of what happened in the North.
Srdan Hercigonja stated that given the history of events in Kosovo, it is simply unbelievable that something of such magnitude and so close to the border could happen, without the knowledge of certain security structures.
" The only question is at which level of those structures this was known. My opinion is based on the information I have and given the history of incidents in Kosovo, it is difficult for something like this to happen without the knowledge of our structures. And if they didn't know, then it's a big mistake and in that case responsibility would have to be determined. Determining responsibility is not the constitutional competence of Aleksandar Vucic, but since he is the one who constantly initiates and demands responsibility, even in this case he can suggest to the Government that the procedure for determining responsibility be initiated.This is the work of the government and all these days we have not heard from our ministries or from the prime minister what our security apparatuses have done ", said Hercigonja.
Commenting on the attackers in Banjska, he emphasized that they can be called "a kind of paramilitary, parapolice or paraparty unit" if it is proven that Milan Radoicic was one of the organizers of the incident.
" And this is very significant, because then the political element is included. And all the evidence we have so far, and if we consider his role in Kosovo, it is simply unbelievable that something like this could be organized there without his knowledge and approval Yes , we can say that it is a para-police force, because he is the vice-president of the Serbian List, which is the only legitimate political representative of the Serbs in Kosovo. And if their involvement is found and this whole case is considered a terrorist act both in the EU and in the USA and Great Britain, there will be significant consequences regarding the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina. This means that Lista Srpska loses its legitimacy as an interlocutor,", explained Hercigonja.
Commenting on the fact that KFOR did not intervene in the armed conflict between the Kosovo Police and the attackers in Banjska, Herzigonja emphasized that KFOR considers that, based on the operational analysis, there was no need to intervene.
" They intervene only when the population is seriously threatened, and then there is some kind of agreement and practice. And the latest practice is that neither KFOR nor EULEX intervene if they don't have to. This means that the Kosovo police have sufficient capacity to prevent the further spread of violence ", explained Hercigonja.
Commenting on Radoicic's role in Banjska, he said that there is no possibility that Radoicic will be extradited to Pristina, and that he has already been accused of other things before the institutions of Pristina, but that he is in Serbia all the time.
" He can answer to the institutions of Pristina only if something changes drastically in relation to the support he has from Belgrade ", he concluded. / Danas
