The Ambassador of the United States of America to the OSCE, Michael Carpenter, met today with the representatives of France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom regarding the terrorist attack in Banjska that left a Kosovo policeman dead.
After the meeting, the QUINT ambassadors in the OSCE came out with a joint statement condemning the attack and killing of the Kosovo police officer, Afrim Bunjaku.
In the statement, they also demanded that the perpetrators be held accountable and brought to justice through a transparent investigative process.
QUINT in OSCE appreciates the close coordination of the Kosovo Police with KFOR and EULEX to guarantee the safety of civilians and emphasize that they are closely monitoring the situation. The ambassadors of these countries in the OSCE demand a return to the EU Dialogue and say that diplomacy is the only way to lasting peace.

" I am making this joint statement on behalf of France, Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and in my national capacity. We strongly condemn the violent attacks near the Banjska Monastery on September 24 that led to the loss of life of a Kosovo Police sergeant. We offer our sincere condolences for such a tragic death in the line of duty. Perpetrators must be held accountable and brought to justice through a transparent investigative process.
We appreciate the close coordination of the Kosovo Police with the NATO-led Kosovo Force and the EU Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo to ensure the safety of civilians and continue to monitor the situation closely.
We reiterate our commitment to reduce tensions. In this regard, our priority remains moving forward in the normalization of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, starting with the return to the Dialogue facilitated by the EU. Diplomacy is the only path to lasting peace ," the joint statement said.
