Germans against Rama: KFOR should not take control in the north of Kosovo

The Ambassador of Germany in Kosovo, Joern Rohde, has said that the position of the German state regarding the sovereignty of the state of Kosovo has not changed.

He said that Germany does not think that KFOR should take control of the north of Kosovo, opposing the proposal of Prime Minister Rama.

" I think that all our statements have made it clear this week that Kosovo is a sovereign country. The Kosovo Police is a law enforcement institution in Kosovo, supported by KFOR and EULEX ," Ambassador Rohde said.

Rohde added that if the Kosovo Police asks KFOR or EULEX to act, they will act according to the rules.

On Thursday, the prime minister of Albania, Edi Rama, said that for the security of the north of Kosovo, the peacekeeping mission of NATO should be established in Kosovo.
