
Five people, four Serbs and one Albanian, have been arrested in Zubin Potok municipality, after they are suspected of shooting at police officials.
The deputy director of the North Mitrovica Police, Veton Elshani, has confirmed to the media that the case happened after the police stopped several vehicles believed to be smuggling goods.
He announced that during the attempt to stop him, there was an exchange of gunfire, but fortunately no one was injured.
The five arrested are suspected of "smuggling of goods", "possession of narcotics" and "attack on an official".
"Today, in the early hours of the morning, in the vicinity of the municipality of Zubin Potok, the police encountered several vehicles which were believed to be smuggling goods. 5 people were arrested, while three cars were confiscated. The Mitrovica North regional investigations are dealing with the case which is described as an attack on official persons, possession of narcotics and smuggling of goods", said Elshani.
