"While some of the areas of cooperation with the current government remain less positive than we had hoped, the commitment of the United States to the people of Kosovo remains as strong as it has always been. However, I have to emphasize that this commitment to the people of Kosovo does not necessarily apply to every government of Kosovo or to every choice or certain action of governing policies", said Ambassador Hovenier.
He made these comments shortly after a ceremony during which the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani and Mary Elieen Devitt from the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Kosovo, signed the document donating 34 million dollars to Kosovo, as part of the agreement for fund for development objectives between both countries.

President Osmani said that today's agreement is a reaffirmation of the shared vision with the United States for a better future for everyone.
"It will support projects that aim at better services for our citizens from accountable and effective governance institutions as well as increased opportunities for comprehensive, democratic and economic participation. In this way, we are not only building stronger and more stable institutions, but also a fairer and more equal society", said President Osmani.
American Ambassador Hovenier said that this donation will support programs and activities that will strengthen Kosovo's economy even more.
"We believe that this will help Kosovo on its integration path towards the European market and consequently help it align even more with Euro-Atlantic institutions such as the European Union - a common goal of ours," said Ambassador Hovenier.
