The main purpose of the attack on the water channel in Zubin Potok was to directly affect the daily life of the citizens of Kosovo.
This is what Arbër Rexhaj, deputy of the Vetëvendosje Movement and member of the Parliamentary Committee for Security Affairs, said in a direct link with "Off the Record" on A2 CNN.
According to him, most likely, the intention was to damage the turbines, which would then cause problems with the supply of energy and drinking water in Kosovo.
Rexhaj also spoke about the possibility of other attacks.
"We have continuously captured such arsenals of weapons. "Continuously, our security institutions have exposed them... Noting that this is not the only terrorist attack in Banjska, but that other attacks are expected," he declared.
Did the institutions of Kosovo fail to prevent such an attack? The LVV deputy argues that unlike institutions, critical infrastructure cannot be ensured with full supervision.
According to him, in the north of Kosovo there is a significant improvement in the lives of citizens as well as security conditions.
"I don't think anything has been compromised with the security institutions. Until before, citizens were also physically in danger, walking in that part of Kosovo, now they can walk freely."
Asked what his opinion is about the voices that say the Kurti government should have listened more to the advice of internationals as to how it should approach the north.
Rexhaj said that time showed that Prime Minister Kurti's approach was the right one, "as in the case of Banjska but also in other cases when weapons were seized in the Republic of Kosovo."
"Their approach was to remove the mayors from the municipalities and not to govern locally from there, but to go somewhere else. This was to please Serbia and they tried to push us to lead in the typical form of parallel structures, although we declared two of their organizations terrorists in the government and prevented them from organizing and accessing the territory of Kosovo."
