Most of the equipment is of Serbian production, but some equipment is exclusive to the military and is not even found on the black market.
The Minister of the Interior of Kosovo Xhelal Sveçla issued a statement to the media after yesterday's explosive attack on the canal in Ibër-Lepenc.
He says that after the checks, the police arrested 8 people as suspected perpetrators of the attack in the North. The police seized an arsenal of weapons, military equipment, explosives and other material evidence.
Sweden has described the attack on vital infrastructure as the heaviest in Kosovo since the end of the war in the country. The Minister of the Interior has directly accused Serbia, the author of the act. He adds that Vucic must be held responsible for this attack on critical infrastructure. Sveçla emphasizes that this attack is well organized and comes from professional criminal groups.
"These are attacks directed by Serbia. The most critical, heaviest attack since the end of the war. We hold official Belgrade responsible for this. This terrorist attack is well organized, organized by groups or organizations that are professionals, which cause great damage to critical infrastructure. Their aim was to maximize the damage to the state of Kosovo and its citizens" , said Sveçla.
The Minister of the Interior adds that the institutions have cooperated with the justice bodies to clarify the event.
"After intensive investigations, today in the morning hours in 10 locations we carried out controls, where 8 people were arrested as suspects of involvement in criminal and terrorist actions. The control was carried out in cooperation with the justice bodies and the KIA. In these actions, weapons, explosives, uniforms and other things that will serve the investigation were confiscated", declared Sveçla.
Sveçla said that Kosovo's institutions will prevent the repetition of such terrorist acts, while adding that those responsible for the attack on the channel will receive the deserved punishment.
"The police will take measures to prevent other terrorist attacks and will help citizens without any distinction. I invite everyone to refer only to official information", Sveçla added.
The Minister of Internal Affairs has stated that most of the equipment is of Serbian production, but that some equipment is exclusive to the military and is not even found on the black market.

"The explosive used last night is a material that is difficult to find, except that the supplies are from army warehouses. We believe that they came from the warehouses of the Serbian army. The Kosovo Police will verify this", said Sveçla.
The commander of the KP, Gazmend Hoxha, declared that 200 military uniforms, rocket launchers and other equipment, which are suspected to be related to yesterday's terrorist attack, were confiscated.
The Director of the Kosovo Police said that explosives up to 20 kilograms were used in the attack on the Ibër-Lepenci canal.
"Based on the investigations at the scene, it is suspected that a large amount of explosives of 15 to 20 kilograms were used to carry out this terrorist attack. The explosive was placed in a black bag and was activated with a mechanical detonator, through a slow-burning wick," said Hoxha.
According to Hoxha, it is suspected that the arrested are part of "Civil Defense", which has been operating illegally in the north of Kosovo since 2011. In June of last year, the government of Kosovo declared "Civil Defense" a terrorist organization.
"We have reason to believe that in one form or another, these were connected to the case of last night's terrorist attack and to illegal and very previous activities, and most of them are part of the Civil Defense ", he said.
The Director of the Kosovo Police emphasized that the explosion caused great damage, causing the drinking water supply to be cut off in many areas.

We remind you that on the evening of November 29, in the village of Varragë in the municipality of Zubin Potok, in the north of the country, an explosion occurred that damaged the water channel of Ibër-Lepenci.
This channel supplies water from Lake Ujman to several cities in the country, as well as to the Energy Corporation of Kosovo for cooling its thermal power plants.
