Miro Kovač, former foreign minister of Croatia, commented on the 75th anniversary of NATO and the 15th anniversary of the membership of Croatia and Albania in the North Atlantic Alliance.
He told RTK that they expect Kosovo to join this alliance with full rights very soon.
"When it comes to the entire Albanian community, Croatia is a very strong supporter of NATO and, in any case, of the entire transatlantic alliance. We are very happy that we have joined our allies together with Albania, and in any case we expect that Kosovo will soon be a member of NATO with full rights", said Kovaç.
Speaking about concerns about a real conflict in the Western Balkans, Kovac said that it is a matter for the European Union to deal with security.
"First, the Western Balkans is the yard of the European Union, therefore the EU should deal with this work anyway. And secondly, Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia are members of NATO and have no concerns regarding security in the Balkans", said Kovač.
He said that if there is any kind of aggression within the Balkans, member states within NATO will intervene immediately to ensure that order and security are maintained and maintained as such.
"There may be small troubles, but I don't believe that anyone dares to challenge this order in the Western Balkans," he said.
Kovac also commented on the case of Bansjka on September 23 of last year, saying that it was an attempt to cause riots.
"There may be attempts at riots in Kosovo, but if there was something similar in Banjska, there will still be intervention within Kosovo and that these are only ideas and I don't believe they will materialize", said Kovaç.
