After the publication of the article by 'Pamphlet', the day before with the title "1000 children are at risk in a school in Mitrovica; the Kosovar authorities are silent!" , the institutions have reacted.
The "Ismail Qemali" school in Mitrovica is in danger of collapsing, although the building was inaugurated only five years ago as a model educational institution and about 2 million euros were invested in it from European Union funds...
Regarding the safety of the students as a result of damage to the walls, water leakage from the roof, humidity and other damages, the parents warned of a protest for today, where together with their children they would go out into the streets to make the state aware of the danger that threatened the lives of about 1000 students.
This chosen way of reaction of the parents has scared the institutions that are still trying to keep this scandal hidden. Even the Ministry of Education has not reacted to the interruption of classes since three weeks without a physical presence in this school, to which the municipality of Mitrovica has thrown the ball of responsibility for misuse during construction.
The Municipal Directorate of Education (DKA) issued a notice today informing that online learning will continue only for the next two days, while an adequate solution is expected after the spring break.
"The Directorate of Education, in today's meeting held with the school management, the Governing Council and the Parents' Council of the "Ismail Qemali" school, analyzed the steps taken by all the mechanisms and the reports of the professional teams up to this stage, in relation to the state of the school facility and examined all the possibilities of organizing the educational process with physical presence after the end of the spring vacation", says the communiqué of the municipality of Mitrovica.
According to this announcement, during the week of the spring break, all students and parents will be notified of the details of the organization of lessons with physical presence.
The chairwoman of the school's Governing Council, Suada Koxhadish Saraçi, confirmed for 'Pamphlet' that after the spring break, the students are expected to be temporarily moved to another school facility, until an answer is received about the state of the facility from independent experts.
Despite the alarming situation in this school, the heads of state of Kosovo have not reacted yet. No investigation has been initiated by law enforcement agencies.
As "Pamphlet" reported, the lives of these students were protected only by KFOR, whose members recommended parents not to allow their children to enter this school building, due to the high risk of collapse from day by day. / Pamphlet
