The Deputy Minister for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in the Government of Kosovo, Edona Maloku Bërdyna, has announced her resignation from Prime Minister Kurti's government cabinet.
The news was made public through a post on social networks by the former deputy himself. the minister, where he emphasizes that for subjective reasons he will give up his involvement in politics and devote himself to academic work.
"I inform you that yesterday, on July 31, 2023, I completed my journey as Deputy Minister for Education, Science, Technology and Innovation in the Government of Kosovo. For subjective reasons, it is impossible for me to continue my commitment to this task and therefore, I have submitted my resignation to Prime Minister Kurti.
I have worked in the Government of Kosovo with maximum personal and professional dedication. I am particularly proud of the contribution made to early childhood development, increasing the involvement of girls/women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), advancing inclusiveness in education, developing science and innovation and bridging collaborations regional and international.
I am deeply grateful to the colleagues with whom I have shared successes and challenges in this common journey. For me, it has been a tremendous honor and lifetime privilege to serve my country. Now I am returning to my academic work, to continue my contribution to education and science", writes Maloku.
