Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has authorized the dispatch of a contingent of the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) to Klos, Albania, to join the operation to search for a young man who allegedly fell into the waters of the Darsi stream 20 days ago.
Osmani said that the KSF was sent to Albania on January 28, following the proposal of the acting Government of Kosovo.
"Yesterday, following the Government's proposal, I authorized the dispatch of the KSF to Klos, Albania, to search for 24-year-old Jurgen Karaj. The KSF, as always, is ready for brotherly assistance, wherever and whenever needed," Osmani wrote on Facebook.
Meanwhile, the acting Government of Kosovo, through a statement, said that it approved the request of the Ministry of Defense, also the day before, during an electronic meeting, which it then sent to the president.
It is reported that the KSF contingent that was sent to Albania is specialized in underwater research.
Currently, numerous Albanian forces are participating in the search operation, including the Albanian army, the firefighting units of Mati and Klos, an area in the Dibra region, but also residents of the area.
Despite intensive efforts to find Jurgen Karaji, who according to Albanian media is 30 years old, no trace of the young man has been found so far.
He disappeared on the evening of January 9-10, after the vehicle he was traveling in, in which he was a passenger, lost control and allegedly fell into a stream. The driver of the vehicle managed to get out of the vehicle, while Karaj was allegedly swept away by the current.
