Leading with over 43% of the vote, the Vetëvendosje Movement declares

The Vetëvendosje Movement has declared victory in the snap elections in Kosovo, after preliminary results put the political force led by Albin Kurti in first place with a significant margin over its opponents.

According to data published by the Central Election Commission, after counting over 95% of the votes, the Vetëvendosje Movement leads with 43.47% of citizen support.

In second place is the Democratic Party of Kosovo with 21.40% of the votes, followed by the Democratic League of Kosovo with 17.88%. The Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has secured 7.19% of the votes.

The electoral process took place without significant incidents, while the Kosovo Police announced that voting and vote counting took place in a calm and orderly manner throughout the country.

Meanwhile, turnout in these elections was lower than in recent elections. According to preliminary data, around 35% of eligible voters took part in the voting, down from around 45% in the elections last December.

The result once again confirms Vetëvendosje as the main political force in Kosovo, while it remains to be seen whether Albin Kurti's party will secure the necessary support for the formation of a new government.

Through a post on social media, LVV has published a photo stating that the big victory celebration will be held at "Skënderbe" Square in Pristina, at 11:00 PM.
