The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has said that the issue of new presidents is being used as a pretext in the north to incite tensions "by those who do not accept the 21st century and independent Kosovo".
In KTV's "Confront" show, he said that in the north of Kosovo, the level of danger is high around municipal buildings, but not in other settlements.
He described the violent protests as "crowds of Serbian chauvinism".
" The degree of danger can be said to be high around municipal buildings. Meanwhile, for other settlements in the north of Kosovo, there is nothing unusual. This actually shows that the people there are not making these protests, that the people are making peaceful protests, but these protests are protests from above and not from below. Being directed and violent, in fact they are not protests at all, it is about crowds of Serbian national-chauvinism, of the extreme right who want power and sovereignty that would mean nothing less than submission and surrender of the democratic Republic . , he said.
According to him, the police action was not out of desire but out of obligation. He added that the obligation came after calls for violence from the Serbs.
" As long as there are violent and criminal mobs outside, as long as people with masks come, graffiti a cross with four 'S', and the 'Z' of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, while they shout for the brotherhood of the Serbian and Russian people, while we have people who openly worship both Milosevic and Putin, of course the special unit should be in the Commune building. It is irresponsible if we did not have the special unit there, therefore we are also obliged to do what we are doing in a course of action where after holding the elections, accepting the process, recognizing the result, taking a very lukewarm oath without any triumphalism , the work begins where else than in the official public facilities of the respective municipalities ", he said.
