The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, received the new ambassador of Albania in Kosovo, Petrit Malaj, in a meeting today.
Kurti congratulated the Malay ambassador for his new assignment, appreciating the fraternal relations between the two states and stressing the importance of deepening and advancing cooperation.
Kurti and Malaj talked about the Western Balkans region "where cooperation between states should be based on democracy and security, on the orientation and values of NATO and the EU".
The Prime Minister of Kosovo singled out the agreements between Kosovo and Albania, the implementation of which, as he emphasized, "strengthens relations and brings citizens closer to each other", as he added that they have a direct and positive impact on the lives of citizens, businesses and beyond .
"Bilateral relations between the Republic of Kosovo and that of Albania have resulted in the signing of a total of 184 agreements, protocols and memoranda" , emphasized Kurti.
Ambassador Malay expressed his commitment to further Kosovo-Albania relations, expressing his happiness that he will serve in Kosovo.
Petrit Malaj was appointed as the new ambassador of Albania in Kosovo by the Albanian president Bajram Begaj, during the month of September of this year. Malaj, who replaced the former ambassador Qemajl Minxhozi, was received by the president of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani at the beginning of November, when the ambassador's credentials were accepted by president Osmani.
