Kurti-Vučič meet tomorrow in Brussels about a 'modern European

The European Union has invited the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia to a meeting on Thursday in Brussels.

European Union foreign policy and security spokesman Peter Stano told VOA that the meeting, which follows Western envoys' visit to Pristina and Belgrade over the weekend, will be "focused on ways to implement the Agreement ( signed in Ohrid)".

"There is no intention to replace the agreement," spokesman Stano said in a written response.
He said that "various proposals and ideas have been discussed, some of them in written form, and these discussions will continue".

According to him, among the proposals is also included "a modern European proposal for the (statute) of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority."

"We expect quick action from the parties to show that they are committed to continuing the normalization process - fulfilling the obligations arising from the Agreement for normalization, as well as all previous agreements without preconditions or delays," declared Stano.

Tensions between the two countries reached a new peak after the September 24 attack on the police in the north of Kosovo by a Serbian armed group./VOA
