The leader of the Vetevendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, spoke after the conclusion of the voting process in the general elections in Kosovo.
In his speech, Kurti stated that the electoral process is now entering a phase as important as voting day itself.
"The will of the citizens is already found in the ballot boxes. Preserving this expressed will is essential for the legitimacy and credibility of the electoral process ," Kurti said.
According to him, the citizens' vote represents the determination of the future direction of the country and the functioning of institutions.
He stressed that the responsibility now falls on the election commissioners and observers, who have a key role in ensuring an orderly and transparent counting process.
"There we have the determination for the future of our country and its institutions. For this, our minds, eyes and ears are with you, commissioners and observers. You have an extremely important, decisive task," Kurti said.
The leader of Vetëvendosje called for maximum professionalism, integrity and dedication during the vote counting process, adding that any eventual irregularities would undermine citizens' trust in democracy.
He emphasized that elections do not end with the closing of polling stations, but only when every vote is counted correctly and the final result truly reflects the will expressed by citizens.
Kurti thanked citizens for participating in the elections, describing their engagement as a sign of the democratic maturity of society.
