The agreement that the EU is signing with the Western Balkans for the Digital Europe program weighs a full 7.5 billion euros. But Kosovo was left out of the program.
With the signing of the agreement that was made on Friday in Brussels, Albania, Serbia, North Macedonia and Montenegro will be part of this program, which is financed by the European Union.
Leaving Kosovo out of this program has been confirmed by the Ministry of Economy.
" According to the announcement received from the General Directorate for Networks, Content and Communications Technology, the date of signing the agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Commission has been postponed ," the Ministry of Economy told RTV Dukagjini.
The Ministry has not provided details on the reasons for the postponement of the signing. This decision comes shortly after the EU announced punitive measures against Kosovo for not taking steps to reduce tensions in the north of the country.
