The Foreign Minister of North Macedonia, Bujar Osmani, has stated that Kosovo should not make the same mistake as North Macedonia did 20 years ago by not accepting the agreement with Greece.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, he emphasized that 20 years ago they lost the opportunity to be part of the EU.
" North Macedonia 20 years ago in relation to Greece, thinking that we are in the right, tried to convince the world that we are in the right and Greece is wrong and did not accept an agreement to sit at the table. They lost 20 years, we lost a generation that fled from North Macedonia and I don't know if they will come back, we lost the chance to be part of the EU together with Slovenia and Croatia at that time and again we sat down with Greece and found a solution that is more difficult than the offers we had 20 years ago. We have another approach that may seem strange. We must learn from our example and not repeat our mistakes ," he said.
