The leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement, Albin Kurti, stated that it is more favorable for Kosovo to vote for Glauk Konjufca as prime minister than to go to elections.
He said that the opposition has two choices: either 'Kurti 2.5' towards the elections in December, or 'Konjufca 1' towards the elections in April. According to him, "whatever the opposition decides will be accepted, but we must cooperate to move forward."
"Since I did not receive the necessary 61 votes, we gave the proposal (Glauk Konjufca as the mandate to form the Government) without delay, we will deal with this immediately after the run-off and the opposition has the choice of the further path, either Kurti 2.5 towards the elections in December, or Konjufca 1 towards the elections in April, any of them is acceptable to us, but let's cooperate and move forward. We won the elections, but more than the elections we want to form the government, we have 48 MPs, and we have more MPs than PDK and LDK together", Kurti told the media.
He said it is better for the country to have a short-term government until April and to vote on the budget. Kurti described the offer to the opposition as "generous", recalling that Vetëvendosje has made moves to facilitate the process.
"For the Republic of Kosovo, it is more favorable to vote for Glauk Konjufca and have a government that votes on the budget, the budget for RTK, the budget for Pristina, Gjilan and Zubin Potok and to go to elections in April because with such difficulty 61 numbers, for the election or re-election of the president we have difficulty getting 80 deputies in the hall, therefore it is better to have a short-term government until April, but we do not decide this ourselves, this is in the hands of the opposition. It is a generous offer, because first Albulena Haxhiu was replaced with Dimal Basha and now I with Glauk Konjufca, we ourselves have moved, while we have fixation and blockage and a kind of rejection that is neither logical nor rational on the part of the opposition entities", Kurti said.
