
The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has conveyed her New Year 2026 greetings, focusing the message on reflection on the year that is closing and the commitment to a safer, fairer and more developed future for the country. In her message to citizens and compatriots, Osmani assessed the past year as a period of numerous challenges, but also of important state decisions.
According to the president, Kosovo has demonstrated determination in protecting the constitutional order and state interest, facing destabilizing efforts and maintaining its role as a factor of peace and stability in the region. Osmani emphasized that these positions have contributed to strengthening Kosovo's international position and increasing its credibility in the international arena.
In her New Year's message, the president acknowledged that the year has been challenging, also due to delays in the establishment of institutions, but underlined that this period has shown the strength of democracy and the citizens of Kosovo. She praised the contribution of workers, police, military, teachers, doctors, youth, women and the Albanian diaspora, describing them as pillars of the functioning of the state.
Speaking about 2026, Vjosa Osmani stated that Kosovo enters the New Year with new responsibilities and clear goals. She mentioned strengthening the rule of law, increasing security, advancing the international position, supporting families and youth, as well as economic development and the well-being of citizens as the main objectives of the country's institutions in the year that has just begun.
