Public administration employees in Kosovo will receive their 13th salary at the beginning of 2026, the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, declared during a visit to Telecom of Kosovo.
He explained that the decision on next year's budget, which includes this payment, will be sent for approval at the first meeting of the new Government.
"For all public administration workers, with the budget law for 2026, which we passed once at the Government meeting on October 31 this year, which we will now pass in two readings in the 10th legislature when the Assembly is constituted," said Kurti.
He added that the 13th salary will not be distributed at the end of the year, but at the beginning of next year:
"I said that this budget law foresees the 13th salary; whoever works for 12 months in the state administration has 13 salaries, but the 13th salary is not received at the end of the year, in December 2025, but in the year that will start tomorrow."
Kurti also announced that its distribution will take place immediately after the formation of the new Government.
"It will be taken at the beginning of the year, depending on when the Assembly is constituted and how quickly we form the Government. So in the first meeting, in addition to the decision on the 2026 budget law, we will also have the decision that provides the 13th salary at the beginning of the year, we will have three others."
