The European Union, after the kidnapping of three policemen from Serbia, has called on Kosovo and Serbia not to take any action that could further escalate the already very tense situation.
The spokesperson of the European Union, Peter Stano, has repeated the call for Kosovo and Serbia to reduce the tension urgently.
" We are aware of the arrest of Kosovo police officers by the Serbian authorities. We are in contact with both sides and with KFOR to find out exactly what happened and how it happened. So that's what's very important to have on the table, the clarification of what happened and how it happened, and until then, we're calling on both sides to do nothing, no action or reaction that could incite further beyond the already very tense situation, and we repeat our call to both sides to reduce the tension quickly, urgently and meaningfully ", he said.
Stano added that the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and the president of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, have been invited to Brussels next week.
" Always in contact with the highest representatives, his counterparts in this specific context, are the leaders from both sides, that is, Prime Minister Kurti and President Vucic ," he said.
