The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, visited Gjakova after the floods of recent days, where she expressed solidarity with the citizens and appreciated the institutional commitment to managing the situation.
" Today we were here together with our team to express solidarity with all the citizens of Gjakova, with the municipality of Gjakova, due to the damages caused by yesterday's floods. Fortunately, they have more or less stopped and we hope that there will be no further damages, but I want to thank all the institutions that have been engaged without stopping, from the mayor and all local institutions to central institutions, emergency agencies, law enforcement agencies and every citizen who has shown solidarity so that this situation can be overcome more easily ," said Osmani.
She added that there are families affected by this situation and that institutions will be by their side.
" Of course, there are families affected by this situation, whose homes have been damaged. We will work together to overcome this and be by their side in dealing with this situation. Mayor Gjini informed us of all the measures that have been taken and also of the plans that will be drawn up continuously regarding the calculation and compensation of damages and other issues. We will be there to cooperate because every challenge is surmountable when we work together ," emphasized Osmani.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Gjakova, Ardian Gjini, described the president's visit as important and announced that the situation is moving towards stabilization.
