Flooding has hit several areas of Kosovo following intense rainfall in recent days, with the most critical situation reported in Anadrinije of the Prizren Municipality. The Emergency Management Agency (EMA) confirms that the Drini i Bardhë has overflowed its banks, flooding both sides of the river and endangering homes and agricultural land.
One of the most direct consequences is the blockage of the Gjonaj-Krajk road, where the water level has exceeded 1.5 meters, making vehicle traffic impossible and temporarily isolating some residents. Police and firefighters are on the ground, working to manage the situation and assist citizens.
"The situation is dynamic and requires constant attention. In the rest of the country, the situation appears more stable, but possible rainfall could change the scenario at any moment," AME stated in an official announcement.
Fire and Rescue Units are engaged in pumping water, protecting facilities and monitoring critical points, in cooperation with municipal structures and the Agency's Operations Center. So far, no casualties have been reported, while material damage is limited and is being documented by local authorities.
AME has called on citizens to avoid movement in endangered areas and to follow only official announcements. The emergency number 112 is active and available to citizens for any emergency.
