The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the acting director of the US Agency for International Development in Pristina, Kerry Monaghan Hogler, signed a donation of over 34 million dollars for Kosovo on Friday.
The agreement signed today aims to provide better services to the citizens of Kosovo through investment in public institutions.
President Osmani said that the donation will focus on strengthening the public administration, eliminating bureaucracy and promoting transparency.
"By promoting accountability and efficiency within public institutions, this agreement will contribute to the continuous reduction of corruption and increase the efficiency of the reaction to the needs of our citizens. As an agreement built on the principles of democracy, accountability and economic growth, it paves the way for a more promising, fairer and more stable future for Kosovo" , emphasized President Osmani.
She said that beyond the financial aid, the agreement is proof of the sustainability of the partnership between Kosovo and the United States of America.
The American ambassador in Pristina, Jeff Hovenier, said that this donation will support the American strategic goals for Kosovo.
" I think it is appropriate to use this opportunity to reaffirm the long and stable partnership of the United States of America with the people of Kosovo. This additional funding will support US strategic goals for Kosovo, including efforts to integrate Kosovo into Euro-Atlantic institutions, efforts to promote economic growth and prosperity, and efforts to strengthen good governance and support the further development of democratic institutions. " , said the American ambassador.
He said that the commitment of the United States to the people of Kosovo remains unwavering, underlining that since the end of the war, more than 2 billion US dollars have been invested in Kosovo./ VOA
