After the failure of the negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia, officials of Prime Minister Kurti's government have made strong accusations against the European mediators, hinting that they are taking Serbia's side in the negotiations.
Jeton Zulfaj, adviser to the prime minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has published a document that, according to him, was proposed by Serbia six months ago.
He says that the same document was proposed today by the head of the European Union for Security and Foreign Policy, Josep Borrell, and Miroslav Lajçak, the EU emissary for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
"A six-month old document was used today by the facilitator to cover up Serbia's lack of participation in efforts for a plan. However, the document is very useful to understand how Vucic's situation became the position of the EU", wrote Zulfaj.
The document states that by the end of March there should be a draft status for the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority.
This process will continue according to the proposal until the end of October 2023 when the establishment of the Association will be completed.
Albin Kurti, prime minister of Kosovo, said after the meeting with the Serbian president, Aleksandër Vucic, that he refused to make a compromise where the Association is at the center.
Meanwhile, Hekuran Murati, Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, has accused the European mediators of siding with Serbia.
"Instead of a real proposal, HR Borrell of the EU presented one of Serbia's 6-month demands, disguising it as a compromise proposal coming from the EU. Borrell and Lajçak are not even trying to hide it anymore," Murati wrote.
