A serious incident was recorded in Kosovo, on the eve of the turn of the year. On "Ahmet Prishtina" street, in Prizren, pyrotechnic materials accidentally exploded yesterday, causing one person to receive serious injuries.
The injured person is from Prizren and was sent to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK).
The Kosovo Police also responded to the case, explaining the circumstances of the incident.
"Police in Prizren dt. 31.12.2024 at around 9:33 p.m. received information that on "Ahmet PRISHTINA" street in Prizren, there was a fire explosion from the ignition of a point of sale of pyrotechnic tools on the sidewalk of the street. And as a result, the fire spread to the premises and buildings around this point of sale, so far we have one injured person who is in the Emergency. His condition is with serious injuries, according to the information, he was sent to KKUK- Prishtina.
As well as numerous material damages to objects and vehicles parked in that part, the patrol units were informed, which went to the scene and took legal actions in relation to this case. At the same time, the unit of fire fighters who managed to put out the fire, as well as the Market Inspector, who is also at the scene, also came to the scene of the incident, and the forensic technique came to the scene of the incident with the guardian investigator. It should be noted that at the moment the situation is under police control and they are continuing with the treatment of this case", declared the Kosovo Police.
While 24 people were injured during the New Year celebrations.
