The Minister of Internal Affairs, Xelal Sveçla, has announced that in a house in Zveçan, a large amount of weaponry was found, including automatic weapons, cartridges, hand grenades and explosives.
According to Svečla, this house was used for the collection and distribution of weapons for Serbian criminal groups.
In addition to the security institutions, Sveçla said that KFOR representatives were also present at the scene.
"For 2 decades, the north of Kosovo has lived illegally, in an abnormal order, where criminal organizations and criminals financed by Belgrade have found shelter.
Smuggling, the illegal entry of goods and weapons into Kosovo, has produced a disturbing situation for our citizens in the north, who, faced with the power of criminals, have lived under constant blackmail and pressure.
As the Government, during the last 2 years, we have discovered and blocked illegal smuggling routes. Today, the Kosovo Police, together with the intelligence institutions, after identification, raided a weapons base in the north of Kosovo, specifically in Zveçan. This house was used for the collection and distribution of weapons for Serbian criminal groups.
