Flooding as a result of heavy rains in the city of Peja the night before, took the lives of a mother and her son, only 5 years old.
The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has reacted to the serious incident, expressing her condolences to the families of the victims.
Osmani says that in these difficult moments, it is important that the support continues so that the municipality of Peja can withstand and recover from this difficult and tragic situation.
"The loss of two of our citizens as a result of the floods in Peja has shocked all of Kosovo. I express my deepest condolences to the family, friends, the Mayor of the Municipality, Mr. Gazmend Muhaxheri and all the citizens of the municipality of Peja for this great and so tragic loss.
The Kosovo Security Force and all other institutions that deal with such emergencies are in Peja since last night offering their help and support. In these difficult moments, it is important that the support continues so that the municipality of Peja can cope and recover from this difficult and tragic situation", writes Osmani.
Regarding this event, it was initially confirmed that the little boy was sent to the hospital without signs of life, while his mother was missing. But the tragedy deepened, when the police announced that the woman was also found without signs of life.
