The city of Peja in Kosovo was faced this evening with torrential rains, causing flooding and problems in road traffic.
The areas with the worst situation are the city center, "7 September" street and the part near the train station.
" The part of the center is in a worse condition, the street '7 Septemberi' as well as the train station. Of course, there are other neighborhoods, but we managed to see them as we are on the ground together with the mayor. The rain is so heavy that we are not even able to intervene ", said the spokesperson of the Municipality of Peja, Faik Zekaj.
Asked if they have received requests from citizens to help them, Zekaj said that they have not had such a case, as he added that in some apartments, water has flooded into the basements.
" We have not received requests from the citizens to come to their aid, but some have complained that the streets are filled with water and the water has entered the basements, but this is understandable because there is a very large amount of water. I have never seen such a large amount of water in the city ," he added.
