The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, reacted today after the Serbian opposition politician, Nikola Sandulovic, who visited Kosovo last year, was beaten in Serbia.
Sandulovic was raped a few days ago in Serbia after he published a video paying homage to the grave of Adem Jashari in Prekaz. Today, in a post on social networks, Konjufca has strongly condemned the ugly act of brutal violence in Serbia against the politician.
"From the media reports and the statements of family members and the lawyer, we learned that Mr. Sandulović, taken by the Serbian secret service police, was held and beaten by officials of this state institution, and then his apartment was raided. In a situation of intimidation and media terror in Serbia, the disturbing allusion that the terrorist Milan Radojčič, wanted by the Republic of Kosovo and internationally for the terrorist attack in Banjska, participated in the torture, has not yet been clarified", writes Konjufca .
He says that the attempt to scare and repel politicians like Sandulović, who is attacked precisely because he recognizes the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo and apologizes for Serbia's crimes against Albanians, comes as an attack on the possibility of a fair political reconciliation between Kosovo and Serbia. as well as to the European political culture in Serbia.
"Wishing him a speedy recovery Mr. Sandulović, and wishing that he will come out even more determined from this serious attack, I call on the international community to condemn this act and take measures to stop the brutality of the Serbian state, which is oriented towards the Republic of Kosovo , as well as towards public figures who serve the progress of our relations. Democracy is measured by internal elements, but also by comparisons with countries where it has already been fundamentally established. And in this sense, the reaction of democratic countries against this serious act is very decisive", writes the President of the Assembly.
