Drizan Shala, an expert on security in Kosovo, said that the Serbian attackers who killed the soldier may be part of the terrorist group Wagner, (a group of Russian mercenaries). According to Shala, this group is supported by Serbian forces.
"Participants of a criminal group were not unified. They had different uniforms, they have a military past and the executed person has a good military experience. This group acted on the directives of support of Serbia. To organize a such an operation, has supported them. The Government of Kosovo has declared two criminal organizations, 'Cobra' and 'Brigada 72'.
They are sources we can confirm for now. This group consists of people who were an integral part of Wagner, who also attacked the Bosnian neighborhood a few days ago. This group has been reacting for several days in Kosovo and disaster has faced the Kosovo police patrol, where we have killed the Kosovo police. This group would not be able to act without the support of Serbia," said Shala for "Report TV".
Shala also said that currently, the Kosovo police is taking the situation under control.
"The police are bringing the situation under control. They are groups that came from the territory of Serbia. They aimed to disrupt the constitutional order of Kosovo. After the killing of the officer, they located the attacker and now the operation is underway to catch the perpetrators of the terrorist act. The Kosovo police have used proportional force to neutralize the aggressor. In case we do not hand them over to the authorities of the Republic of Kosovo, we may have others killed," said Shala .
