
The head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, reacted after the killing of the policeman in the north of Kosovo, while two others were injured.
Borrell writes that the EU strongly condemns the horrific attack, while demanding that the perpetrators be brought to justice. Further, the head of EU diplomacy writes that more human lives are at risk in the ongoing hostilities in the surroundings of Banjska Monastery.
"I condemn in the strongest possible terms the ugly attack by an armed gang against Kosovo policemen in Banjska/Banjskë in northern Kosovo, which left one policeman dead and two injured. All facts surrounding the attack must be established .The perpetrators responsible must face justice.
More innocent lives are at risk in the ongoing hostilities around Banjska Monastery. These attacks must be stopped immediately.
EULEX, as the second security responder, is on the ground and in close contact with the authorities and KFOR. The EU and its member states constantly call on all actors to work to de-escalate the situation in the north of Kosovo," writes Borrell.
