The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, visited the policeman Alban Rashiti, who was injured today in the early hours of the morning in the north of Kosovo, an incident where his colleague Afrim Bunjaku was killed.
Kurti said that the removal of a grenade shell was successfully carried out.
He said that policeman Alban Rashiti will be released from the hospital.
The head of the government of Kosovo also announced that from 10:00, the Security Council will meet, due to the developments in the north where the police sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed.
"The projectile was from a hand grenade that the criminals orchestrated from Serbia threw at the Kosovo police during their terrorist attack near the bridge in Banjské i Zveçan", said Kurti.
According to preliminary data, the event was recorded around 02:34 when some Serbs placed two trucks on the bridge of the village of Banjské in Zveçan, blocking the road.
The police immediately went to the scene as soon as they received the report, but encountered an attack with a heavy caliber weapon, as a result of which Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was hit, who was killed, while another officer was injured.
Police units in self-defense responded to the attack and managed to repulse the initial attack to create conditions for providing aid and withdrawing colleagues who were shot.
Meanwhile, the people who were shooting with weapons were placed in several positions, and it is even thought that grenades were thrown in the direction of the police.
