The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, reacted after the murder of a Kosovo policeman and the wounding of another in the north of the country by criminal gangs.
Osmani said that the killing and wounding of a policeman in the north was planned, orchestrated and executed by Serbian criminal gangs, as he called it an attack on Kosovo.
"These attacks prove once again the destabilizing power of criminal gangs, organized by Serbia, which for a long time, as has been proven with the attacks on KFOR members, journalists and citizens, are aiming to destabilize Kosovo and the region.
Organized attacks against the law enforcement forces of the Republic of Kosovo are attacks against the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo," said Osmani.
Further, she said that she expects Kosovo's allies to support the country in its efforts to establish law and order in every part of the Republic.
"We express our deepest condolences to the family of the murdered policeman and assure them that the perpetrators of these terrorist acts will not be able to escape justice.
I invite all citizens, institutions and political subjects to remain united at this time when Serbia is openly challenging the territorial integrity, security and sovereignty of our Republic.
As the President of the Republic, I have full confidence in our boys and girls from the Kosovo Police", says Osmani.
A policeman was killed as a result of the attacks in the village of Banjské in Leposaviči and another policeman was injured.
The incident happened at 03:00 this morning.
