The Serbian President, Aleksandër Vucic, who is in Paris for the two-day Peace Forum, said that there have been no initiatives for a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who is also staying in the French capital.
Vucic said that "I don't know what we were going to talk about".
"He chose which representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina he would meet with, so I wonder what hypocritical principles these are for respecting territorial integrity," said Vucic.
As "Danas" reports, Vucic said that it is clear to everyone in the West that Kurti does not want to form the Association.
"I think it is clear to everyone that Kurti does not want to form the Association, does not want progress in the dialogue, and that everything else was Balkan tricks that worked for a day or two. For us, it is important to preserve the lives of Serbs in Kosovo, to preserve peace, but I do not believe that the Association will ever be formed until Kurti is in power in Pristina", continues Vucic .
Asked if there were comments about Kurti's stubbornness in not fulfilling the agreement, Vucic says that "even when there was, and that there was much more than he expected", he would not say this publicly because, as he clarifies, "if they would like to say it themselves publicly".
Regarding the opposition's claims that he needs elections to recognize Kosovo's independence, he responds by quoting Aleksandar Tijanič that "everyone moves within the limits of their own hypocrisy".
"Independent Kosovo, at least from the point of view of the Albanians and the West, was created during the time of Marko Jaksic, DSS and Slobodan Samarxic and all the others. Milosh Jovanovic, who was then an adviser or whatever... After this happened in their time, 85 countries recognized independence and since I am president, 27 countries have withdrawn their recognition," said Vucic .
As he added, no country has done this in his time because the government of that time did not even ask for it. He recalled the WikiLeaks cables in which, as he said, it is said that "those who are on the 'Serbia against violence' list are those who asked the West not to not recognize Kosovo, but to do so when they come in power".
"I will never recognize the independence of Kosovo. But I have been hearing lies for 11 years. And many false patriots gave me sermons and never forgave me ," said Vucic.
Tonight at the Elysee Palace, Vucic will have a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, with whom he will discuss the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. As he said, Macron can be expected before the end of the year in Belgrade.
