The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has said that the QUINT countries, which criticize the Serbian List for the call to boycott the vote for the dismissal of the mayors of municipalities in the north of Kosovo on April 21, should be ashamed of such accusations.
Vucic, responding to reporters after a meeting with the delegation of Republika Srpska, said that only 3.4% of citizens participated in local elections in the north of Kosovo last year.
"I saw that some are trying to preach, what insolence", Vucic said, answering the journalist's question about the fact that QUINT is blaming the Serbs for the announced boycott of the vote on April 21.
B92 writes that Vucic said that Albin Kurti initially organized the elections in which 3.4 percent of the citizens turned out, while previously he had carried out countless actions against the Serbs.
"The Serbs were arrested, mistreated, beaten, injured... Then he [Kurti] organized brilliant elections with 3.4 percent of the people who turned out. But that's not a problem. They told us agree to participate and they will resign. When we accepted, they said - they will not resign", recalled Vucic.
After that, he says, QUINT told the Serbs to submit a petition, where the signatures of 20 percent of registered voters would have to be collected.
"And when, with all Kurt's tricks, we collect those signatures, they say - no, let's go to the referendum. And the referendum requires 50 plus 1 vote. Well, there aren't that many Serbs living there... 862 people were registered there," said the Serbian president.
According to him, the Serbian List reacted to all this and emphasized that it is actually meaningless, because the Serbs can no longer endure terror.
"Even after 3.4 percent of those who went to the polls say - Belgrade is guilty? Shame on you. Look in the mirror, you liars," said Vucic.
Vucic has repeated that Serbia is facing a difficult period in which Serbia's membership in the Council of Europe will also be decided. He said that with the admission of Kosovo to the Council of Europe without fulfilling the conditions and the formation of the Association of municipalities with a Serbian majority and everything else, they are actually removing Serbia from that organization.
"Will see. It's all on the same days. We will fight about this...", said Vucic.
