President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani

Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani voted shortly after 10:00 at the Technical Faculty in Pristina.

After casting her vote, she described this day as important for the country's democracy.

"The greater the participation and the more orderly the process, the stronger our democracy. I expect this to be a process with results that benefit our citizens," said Osmani, inviting citizens to exercise their right to vote.

Osmani also stressed that Kosovo institutions will do everything to guarantee the right to vote for all citizens, reiterating that Serbia has constantly attempted to interfere in the electoral processes in Kosovo.

The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, also headed to the ballot box on Sunday morning.

Kurti, after casting his vote at the Faculty of Law, invited all citizens to vote in the local elections.

"We vote to decide for the four years in the municipalities of Kosovo. We decide for schools, kindergartens, water...", said Prime Minister Albin Kurti initially.

"I invite all citizens, without distinction, to exercise their right to participate in solving problems and meeting their needs," he added.

Today, citizens of 38 municipalities in Kosovo will have the opportunity to vote for their mayors and representatives in the Municipal Assembly.

The Central Election Commission announces that there are 948 voting centers throughout Kosovo that opened at 07:00 in the morning and will close at 19:00.

The CEC has announced that all necessary preparations have been made to ensure an orderly, transparent and peaceful process.

Also, for the local elections of October 12, 2025, a total of 38 Voting Centers for conditional voting will be opened, distributed in all municipalities of Kosovo. According to the CEC announcement, a total of 54 polling stations will operate in these centers, dedicated to voters who, for various reasons, are unable to vote at their regular polling station.

Conditional voting in local elections is allowed only within the municipality where the voter is registered, and is carried out at a special conditional voting center designated by the CEC.
