The Kosovo Prosecution and Police have committed additional resources to oversee the electoral process and prevent violations during voting.
The Office of the Chief State Prosecutor has made more than 100 prosecutors and officials of the prosecutorial system available to closely follow the development of the electoral process throughout Kosovo until its conclusion.
The institution has called on citizens, political parties and civil society organizations to denounce any suspected case of pressure, manipulation or misuse of the vote. According to the State Prosecutor, reporting irregularities remains an important element for protecting the democratic process.
In parallel, the Kosovo Police has activated the operational plan for the early elections for the Assembly of Kosovo. In implementation of this plan, public order police officers have been engaged, while specialized units and other support equipment may also be included if necessary.
Police authorities have announced that the main focus remains on ensuring order and security before, during and after the vote. Measures include the supervision of polling stations, municipal warehouses and the Counting and Results Center, as well as increasing the level of preparedness in the field.
