The Intelligence Index has highlighted the countries with the most intelligent people in the world, Europe or in the academic field.
According to a study by Trading Platforms, the latest available OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development) indicators for performance in science, mathematics and reading (PISA), combined with scientific publication rates and average intelligence quotient (IQ), allow for the classification of the smartest countries in the world.
Albania does not appear in the top 10 in the world, which is led by Taiwan and Hong Kong and is actually led by Asian countries in the top 6 and with a drop of 0.52 points compared to the latest results from last year.
List of the 10 smartest countries in the world:
-Taiwan: 107.10
-Hong Kong: 107.06
-South Korea: 106.43
-Japan: 106.40
-Singapore: 105.14
-Mongolia: 102.86
-Australia: 102.57
-Spain: 102.30
-New Zealand: 102.08
-Slovenia: 101.96
Meanwhile, in the smartest countries in Europe, Spain is at the top, with an average IQ of 102.3, leaving behind countries like France (101.4), Germany (100.9) and Italy (100.8). Albania ranks much lower, with just over 82 points and in 104th place.
The Intelligence Index of Nations, according to the study, takes into account three variables:
-Population IQ index
-PISA 2022 results (15-year-old students)
-Number of scientific publications per million inhabitants
Which country has the smartest students?
In terms of the performance of 15-year-old students, Estonia is at the top of Europe with 516 points in the 2022 PISA tests, a performance that is considered extremely high even at the global level.
As Martin Tunchev, an analyst at Trading Platforms, says:
"A high average IQ usually leads to better educational performance, which in turn increases scientific output and innovation."
He adds:
"Asian countries like Singapore, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea are examples of this virtuous cycle, while smaller European countries like Finland, Estonia and Switzerland show how targeted investment in education can raise the cognitive level of the population."
