The well-known rapper Tayna, whose real name is Doruntina, has shared with her followers on Instagram her reaction after the death of the Albanian colossus, Ismail Kadare, showing a special connection with her name.
Tayna has discovered that her father named her after being inspired by Kadare's work, "Doruntina".
"Even when my memory is as tired as those late-night trams. It will stop only at the main stations. I will never forget you". Dad called me Doruntina from your work. Thank you for everything you have done for Albanian literature. Rest in peace the great Ismail Kadare! Your creations will never be forgotten."
Ismail Kadare passed away in the emergency room of Tirana, at the age of 88.
The candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature is known as one of the greatest contemporary writers, he stands out mainly for prose, but his contribution also extends to dramaturgy, poetry and translations.
Ismail Kadare started writing when he was still young, first poetry, with which he became known, and then prose, becoming the main Albanian prose writer. Until today, his works have been translated into about 45 different languages, thus being the main representative of Albanian literature around the world.
