A statement by Big Brother VIP resident Brikena has caused numerous discussions on social networks and public opinion.
During a conversation inside the house, she spoke about the differences that, according to her, exist between Albanian and foreign girls, especially in relation to marriage, separation, and children.
Brikena said that marrying a foreign girl is not necessarily problematic, noting that in some cases they can be even better than Albanian girls. However, according to her, the problem lies in the way they cope with separation and family responsibilities.
She said that foreign girls, after creating a family and having children, can more easily leave their partner if love or respect ends, without considering the consequences for the children. Meanwhile, according to Brikena, an Albanian girl stays in a marriage for the sake of the children, even when she feels that feelings have changed, facing difficulties and arguments.
In a concrete example, Brikena mentioned an Italian friend of hers who had ended a 7-year relationship after being slapped by her partner. She said that she personally would not have broken up the marriage over such an incident, explaining that she was not justifying violence, but that in certain cases one should reflect on the impact on the children and the possibility of fixing the situation.
Her statement has sparked numerous reactions, with some members of the public criticizing her for relativizing domestic violence, while others have seen it as a personal opinion influenced by cultural reality and life experience.
"I know where the problem is with Italians and other races, let's take the example of now marrying an Italian girl. It depends on the circumstances, she could be the best girl in the world, even better than an Albanian girl. But the problem is that foreign girls have two children, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow you meet another person and say: 'Love, respect is over', and he doesn't care if she leaves you, if she has children or not.
"But an Albanian girl, even if love ends, stands up for the children's respect. She can handle anything, even after an argument. An Italian friend of mine left her boyfriend after 7 years because he slapped her. I personally don't agree. If I had been with a person for 7 years, had children, and it had broken up because of a slap, I wouldn't have broken up my marriage because of a slap. I'm not saying violence, because no one has beaten me. But I have to think about the child, about the child's trauma, can this be fixed or not? I personally suffered myself, what is the child's fault?!" , said Brikena.
