Bjordi Mezini was invited to 'Wait for Me on Sunday' as the director of the film starring Luiz and Kiara.
Bjordi says there was no way Luiz wouldn't sing in the film:
"Luiz sings throughout the film, at several points. It would be foolish of us not to have Luiz sing, because it's what he does best," said Mezini, hinting that music will be an important element of the project.
Although he was careful not to reveal too many details from the film, the director shared some behind-the-scenes footage from the shoot, revealing that Luiz Ajll's inexhaustible energy has also taken a toll on him physically. According to Mezin, Luiz suffered several injuries during the shoot, as a result of his maximum dedication and desire to always add more action to the scene.
"You have to pick up and catch Luis like children running around. He was killed a lot. There were some scenes with obstacles and at one point he fell, suffering a deep cut on his arm," Mezini said. He added that the injury caused Luis problems for about a week, making even everyday dressing difficult.
"He didn't complain, but he was as determined as a child who you had to be ready for at any moment," said the director, describing the singer-actor's dedication as maximum.
Asked whether Luiz and Kiara's involvement in this film could affect the public's positive perception of them, Mezini expressed optimism, underlining that the duo has worked intensively to realize the project.
He hinted that their success is not in question, as the work has been done with full dedication, day and night, to bring a quality film, taking into account the real conditions in which Albanian cinematography develops.
During the interview, Bjordi Mezini also spoke about his professional relationship with actress Anna Lika, with whom he shares not only life but also parenting a daughter. The director spoke candidly, admitting that working with Anna on stage is often tiring due to her unique working method.
"Anna has a working method that drives me crazy. Before a scene starts, she's very difficult and needs to be pampered a little. By the end of the project, I say 'I have to fire her, I can't stand her,'" he said with a touch of humor.
Mezini also revealed that this has led to discussions between them, including the fact that Anna was not part of his first film, because she was pregnant at the time.
"We've had discussions about this recently," the director concluded.
